The Online Vintage Treasure Hunt: Vol 1
A curated roundup of vintage treasures I found but didn’t buy.
Thrifter by day, professional eBay scroller by night. The vintage hunt never really stops. Responsibly, I don’t buy everything, so I might as well share the wealth.
This is a biweekly roundup of all the pieces and deals that have caught my eye. Every other Friday, it goes out first to paid subscribers, and then to free subscribers on Saturday. Some of these links are affiliate, but I also highly encourage digging for your own deals and using this as a starting point for your own hunt.
Now on to the goods!
The Wooden Bowl Edit
Wood Scalloped Marquetry Bowl - $115 (on sale right now!)
One thing about me is I absolutely struggle to sell any beautiful, useful wooden object that comes into my life. The problem is most obvious when it comes to anything kitchenware related. I have far too many platters, trivets, and bowls. (Don’t ask how often I cook 😅)
If I found this bowl in the wild, there’s no way it would ever see another household again. This thing is stunning.
Wood Scalloped Marquetry Bowl - $49.99
This one is strikingly similar, just a little bit less detailed which is reflected in the price. But honestly, I might like the simplicity more? I’m also sharing this as a little reminder: if you see something you love online but not the price (even if it’s fair), try a reverse image search. That’s exactly how I found this one.
Vintage Hand Carved Wood Bowl - $52.50
I have been drooling over this bowl for a few weeks now, but I have literally no need for it in my life. Everything about it is perfection. The side profile and its chunkiness have a chokehold on me.
Chunky Marquetry Bowl - $29.99
If you had told me two years ago that I’d be fixated on marquetry, I wouldn’t have believed you. In the past week or two, I finally priced and let go of a gorgeous marquetry bowl to put in my booth. It only took me two months to accept that I wasn’t its forever home.
But this bowl? This one would’ve stayed. I love the ridges, and it’s pure chonk.
The Inspiration 🤌

On a recent trip to Chicago, I stopped by Millie by Metric which was all around excellent. The coffee + pastries were delicious, but more importantly it was a feast for the eyes. While I’m in love with the Louis Poulsen lights and a turquoise faucet, I was especially obsessed with their cup and saucer sets. Probably because a cup + saucer is more in my current price range. 😅
If you’re interested in this exact set, here’s the link. But this discovery sent me down a deep dive into vintage restaurant ware, because this simple striped situation has been around for a while.
The Restaurant Ware Goodies

Restaurant ware gives that perfect nostalgic feel while being incredibly practical. And did I mention affordable? This set is less than $2 each. Need I say more?
Simple, sturdy, and just a touch fancy. The scalloped edge gives these a softer feel without losing that classic diner look.
That’s a wrap on the very first installment of The Online Vintage Treasure Hunt. I’m already excited to start hunting for the next roundup. I would love to know what you want to see, and what price points are most interesting to you.
Next week, paid subscribers will get an inside look at everything I know about merchandising my vintage booth.
For my free subscribers, I’ll see you Monday with a new haul. Let’s just say it’s been a good week.
Until then, happy vintage treasure hunting! 💛
